2018年5月21日、シンガポール美術館［SAM］とアジア太平洋酒造協会［APB］基金は、アジア太平洋地域出身のアーティストが過去３年間に制作した作品を対象とするシグネチャー・アートプライズ2018の最終候補を発表した。
アジア太平洋酒造協会基金シグネチャー・アートプライズは、同地域の現代美術の発展を目的に2008年に設立。約３年に１度のペースで開催されている。異なる政治、経済、文化背景を持つ広大な地理的範囲に及ぶ現代美術を扱う同賞は、４度目の開催にあたり、対象地域にさらに中央アジアを加え、40を越える国や地域の専門家によって推薦された113の作品のなかから、最終候補の15作品を選出した。日本からは、田村友一郎の「裏切りの海」と山城知佳子の「土の人」が選出されている。
最終候補作品を紹介する展覧会『Signature Art Prize 2018』は、5月25日よりシンガポール国立博物館で開催。会期中にグランプリをはじめとする各賞の受賞者が決定する。審査員を務めるのは、片岡真実（森美術館チーフキュレーター）、ボース・クリシュナマチャリ（コーチ・ビエンナーレ財団理事長）、ジョイス・トゥ（シンガポール美術館シニア・キュレーター）、ジェラルド・ヴォーン博士（オーストラリア国立美術館ディレクター）、ウォン・ホイチョン（アーティスト、インディペンデントキュレーター）の５名。賞金総額は10万シンガポールドル（約823万円）。これまでに、ヨウ・チー・キョン（シンガポール）、ロデル・タパヤ（フィリピン）、ホー・ツーニェン（シンガポール）がグランプリを受賞。2011年には会田誠が審査員賞を受賞している。
