'Pop Life: Art in a Material World'

Jeff Koons
Yorkshire Terriers 1991
Given its title by Artforum editor-at-large, GEISAI#11 jurist and co-curator of the show Jack Bankowsky, Pop Life: Art in a Material World looks at ways in which artists since the 1980s have engaged with the media to 'cultivate their public persona as a product' and 'build their own "brands"'. The Tate Modern's autumn exhibition presents iconic works by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring, Richard Prince, Martin Kippenberger, and notorious YBAs, plus a special new commission by Murakami Takashi and the recreation of a performance by Damian Hirst.
