Koichi Enomoto

Q: What is important thing for your creative attitude? (please answer by adjective word)
A: Full of nonsense, yet being serious.

Q: Painting is dead, or Painting is just a material etc. are already discussed thoroughly by ancestors.
What can you add, or create newly, among that topic?
A: I remember the story of the submarine volcano which Taro Okamoto talks about in his own book.
Although there is sense of isolation that nobody realize its eruption, it strangely touches my heart.

I say with respect; that Art has been inherited by kind of ‘willing hard working’ people like the volcano.

The newness that I can add to Paintings, is first of all to join myself there.

The necessity of Paintings as objects might disappear in future, as sound sources became to mp3 from a record disc.
However, I want to give a trial again among techniques and real things; by the sense of tightrope walking.

Futo Akiyoshi and Koichi Enomoto Solo exhibition at TARO NASU until Sat. 18 June.
