Exploring the theme of ‘the human body as the meeting place of science (medicine) and art’, this exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Wellcome Trust, the world’s largest independent charity funding research into human health. The show features around 150 valuable medical artifacts from the Wellcome Collection and some 30 works of old Japanese and contemporary art. One highlight of the exhibition is three anatomical sketches by Leonardo da Vinci from the Royal Collection owned by Queen Elizabeth II. What other theme could possibly bring together in one exhibition works by Francis Bacon and Matsui Fuyuko (hanging side by side), Vincent Van Gogh, Maruyama Okyo, Kuroda Seiki and Damien Hirst?
