MAM exhibition schedule 2010

On 28 October the Mori Art Museum (Tokyo) announced its exhibition lineup for 2010. The museum is organizing three major exhibitions under the umbrella theme of ‘Defining Japan’. The year will kick off with MAM’s triennial group show, Roppongi Crossing 2010: Can there be art? The creative potential of a new Japan (3.20 – 7.4), this edition featuring around 20 artists/units. Sensing Nature: Perceiving nature in Japan (7.24 – 11.7) will showcase the works of Kuribayashi Takashi, Shinoda Taro and Yoshioka Tokujin. The trio will close with a solo show presenting the sculpture-based artistic practice spanning multiple media including video and photography of 1972-born Odani Motohiko (11.27 – 2011.2.27).

For the remainder of 2009 at MAM is the currently underway solo show of works by Ai Weiwei, and the forthcoming Medicine and Art: Imagining a future for life and love – Leonardo Da Vinci, Okyo, Damien Hirst opening 28 November.
