■Exhibition summary
I am born in Switzerland, and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966 years) who played an active part in France is one of the most important sculptor in Europe of the 20th century. ジャコメッティ which fully absorbed the movement that was a radical mark at the same period including admiration to Africa and Oceanic sculpture and キュビスム and the surrealism exercise that I participated in from the end of the 1920s has begun to walk it to the creation of the original style while facing you in a model from 1935. It was the totally new sculpture which stretched out a body for a long time like a line. ジャコメッティ was going to approach in the human essence that removed show and display earlier of the tangle between seeing it and making it. It may be said that it is the proof that his sculpture agreed with mind of the same period that the specific molding was evaluated in existentialism and the phenomenological context. In addition, it was known even that ジャコメッティ interchanged with Isaku Yanaihara (1918-1989 years) who was a Japanese philosopher, and the production that did Yanai Hara with a model gave ジャコメッティ great stimulation.
Sculpture, oil painting, rough sketch, selected work including the print, 132 points are going to be exhibited at this exhibition from the early days to later years while looking up at the cooperation of the domestic collection to possess a valuable work of ジャコメッティ.
