An exhibition “summer workshop project” to be able to enjoy from the child who became annual every year to an adult.
I report the state with a photograph this time.
By the project of this year, I announce the new work by artist, KOSUGE1-16 which announced a lot of works involving an area and the audience. The big marionette which assumed a painter, Yamaji dealer from Hiroshima (1903-1944) a motif appeared in the meeting place and was able to please many visitors from a child to an adult. As for the painter of the marionette doll, the Yamaji dealer who had an atelier in the foot of the Mt. Hiji more than 60 years ago becomes the model. He did “Dadaist declaration” and broke a matter of course and pursued a new thing. Many artists gathered in his atelier every day and seemed to do various arguments about new art. Meanwhile, Japan entered in the times of the war. I arrested you, and Yamaji has been taken to the special serviceman (special political police) on the Pacific War outbreak of war next day. In the times when a country of Japan did not feel free expression pleasant, new people who was going to express it seemed to have a hard time very much. Yamaji was worried about tuberculosis behind bars and has died after the release soon.
Yamaji drew a lot of works about the Mt. Hiji, but an A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, and many works has disappeared. Most of his masterpieces do not stay now. However, Yamaji and many artists whom I influenced each other played an active part afterwards.
I made this display in the image of an atelier of Yamaji. Many children gather and talk with Yamaji of the marionette through a string and are an atelier influencing together here. Children are fun and picture playing Hiji mountain while Yamaji of the marionette is controlled by everybody gathering in the atelier, and showing an avant-garde performance and novel drawing.
A frame without the picture hangs over the wall of the front a lot, but please fill up this wall by a new work of a marionette Yamaji dealer during a session!
