An exhibition that explores the relations between virtual reality technology and media art development, and how each in turn relates to the external world. Here seven Belgian artists including Hans Op de Beeck, whose permanent exhibit appears in Japan at the Towada Art Center, and six Chinese artists including Jenova Chen and Xu Wenkai create illusory spaces. Fantastic Illusions is part of the Shanghai eArts Festival 2009 and one of the programs of the biennial Europalia festival centered in Brussels, which this year features China.
