December marked the opening of the 6th Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT6) in Brisbane, Australia, featuring works by more than 100 artists from 25 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Participating from Japan are artists YNG (Nara Yoshitomo+graf), Nawa Kohei, Ohmaki Shinji, and Sawa Hiraki, with Iida Shihoko (former curator of Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery) on the scene as guest curator of the Queensland Art Gallery collaborating in the planning and running of the exhibition. Starting 27 January, guided tours will be conducted four times a day, everyday (excluding 2 April); gallery talks by curators and talks focusing the work of artists from specific geographical areas are scheduled mostly on weekends.
