In Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, “靉嘔 starts を on Saturday, February 4 far away of the rainbow again”.
I participated in association of デモクラート artist with Masuo Ikeda and others, and I announced the oil painting image of a bright color, and 靉嘔 born in Ibaraki for 1,931 years attracted attention in the 1950s. A work to accuse at the human five senses not to remain in the frames of the picture such as the installation that took 《 finger box 》 which I enter, and appreciates a finger and neighboring environment in the hole of the box is born while I am going to arrest the world recognized by perception by the talks with a concrete thing some other time over New York in 1958. In the 1960s when everyday things and act itself was converted into art, the installation called “the environmental art” of 靉嘔 attracted attention as pioneer expression. Artists such as a musician, a poet, an artist beyond the genre cross and are active with Ono Yoko and Nam Jun pike and others as the group which built one foundation for the way of the variety of today’s art, a member of “フルクサス”. I refuse a picture to draw before long in a line, and the work of “the rainbow” to repeat visible rays (spectrum) from red to purple in the motif which I quoted comes to be known to 靉嘔 as “an artist of the rainbows” after birth, announcement by the Venice Biennale (1966) at home and abroad. The fight with the rainbow of 靉嘔 continues by a print, a picture, installation and various forms to date.
By the book exhibition, I display the obis of the rainbow of 300m hung in the Eiffel Tower in new work for 30m pictured with the rainbow color of experience-based installation I can touch it, and to enjoy and 192 colors, 1987 other than the document of the series and the performance of many rainbows on a large scale. Please enjoy the optimistic world of 靉嘔 spreading through a lot of exhibition rooms.
