The Hara Museum is happy to announce that the exhibition catalogue for Elizabeth Peyton: Still life is now available at the Museum Shop!

This attractive volume contains a total of 58 color plates of Peyton’s works, which include the 42 featured in the show and 11 others that did not appear due to various circumstances. Personally selected by Peyton herself, these important works provide an overview of the first 25 years of her career to date.

Prince Eagle (Fontainebleau), oil on board 30.5 x 22.9 cm 1999 Laura and Stafford Broumand Collection

The Age of Innocence, oil on board 36.2 x 25.4 cm 2007 The Brant Foundation, Greenwich, CT

Nick (La Luncheonette December 2002), oil on board 18.4 x 22.9 cm 2003 Collection of Karen and Andy Stillpass

Kurt Sleeping, oil on board 27.9 x 35.6 cm 1995 Private Collection, New York

Included at the end of the catalogue is an interview with Peyton conducted over email by the curator of the show. In it, the artist provides a fascinating glimpse into her creative process, use of materials and methodology and thinking behind the choice of works for the show.

This volume is the only in-print collection of Peyton’s artwork to feature bilingual text (Japanese and English). We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to add it to your bookshelf!
