Blue Book is a tech company that has developed the world’s top search engine. Caleb, aged 24, works at the company as a programmer, and he wins an in-house contest and gains the opportunity to take part in a special project. He gets to spend a week in the mountains at the country home of the company’s mysterious and reclusive CEO, Nathan, who has amassed a vast fortune with his technical wizardry and original ideas, but rarely shows his face in public. After a helicopter flight of several hours, Caleb arrives at the remote site, and what he finds waiting for him is Eva, a beautiful female android equipped with advanced artificial intelligence. Far from the city, in a magnificent natural environment, Caleb is asked to carry out a test to assess whether the android has developed genuine emotions. He is drawn to her enigmatic beauty and intellect. She warns him not to believe a word Nathan says…

In the “locked-room” environment of the isolated country house, a psychological battle between artificial and human intelligence is underway. The characters’ hearts and minds intersect in an atmosphere of nail-biting tension. What choices will human beings be forced into by the technology they have themselves created? A supremely stylish visual sensibility and vision illuminates this work, which won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 88th Academy Awards.
