“Mémoire Fantôme” Bernard Pras

[Title] Mémoire Fantôme
[Artist] Bernard Pras
[Date] September 28 – November 11, 2017

The window display at Ginza Maison Hermès is a theatrical stage in the midst of the city. Each year’s annual theme of Hermès is conveyed through the creative viewpoints of diverse creators.
The theme for 2017 is Le sens de l’objet (Object Sense).

The window display, Mémoire Fantôme is presented by artist Bernard Pras. The artist creates unique paintings by collaging a wide range of everyday items such as stationery goods, clothing, kitchen utensils, and old toys using his own distinctive methods. For this project, he has constructed a portrait in the window of a boy and a girl, making it appear as if the two are gazing out at the Ginza street scene.
