Summary
This feature-length animation by the legendary animation studio, Halas and Batchelor, is based on the fable by George Orwell. The story is about oppressed animals that hold a revolt, expel their farm owner and then begin managing the farm on their own under the principles of Animalism. However, clouds gradually appear over the happy Animal Farm with animals that, no matter how hard they work, cannot reach affluence, and pigs that rule the farm through clever propaganda and violence and end up corrupt. The film bravely paints the domination structures of human societies, a message handed down even to the present day through this fable.
This film was the first feature-length animation created in the U.K. This masterpiece by Halas and Batchelor, brings together the technology and passion of the time. One of the highlight is the final scene, which differs from the original story.
