APT6 set to open 5 December

This sixth staging of the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art is set to kick off in December in Brisbane, Australia. Centered at the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, APT6 will feature the work of more than 100 artists from 25 countries, including North Korea, Turkey, Iran, Tibet, Cambodia and Myanmar. Exhibiting artists include Subodh Gupta, Runa Islam, Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba, Gonkar Gyatso and from Japan, NYG (Nara Yoshitomo+graf), Nawa Kohei, Ohmaki Shinji, and Sawa Hiraki. Curator Iida Shihoko, who recently announced her resignation from the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, will be joining the APT curatorial team as a guest curator at QAG.
