Akihabara will soon be home to a new art center. After undergoing renovation, the former Chiyoda-ku Rensei Junior High School will feature exhibition space, artists’ studios and workshop areas. Working towards a planned launch in February 2010, the facility is now seeking parties to conduct art activities in each of approximately 20 classrooms. Rental fees will be set at less than market price for space in the area to lighten the burden on the businesses involved. The organization running the facility is also seeking art management, installation and workshop staff.
