International Incheon Women Artists’ Biennale opens

The International Incheon Women Artists’ Biennale originated in 2004 as a festival focused on Korean women artists. It became an international exhibition in 2007. This year’s festival comprises three sections: the main exhibition, So Close Yet So Far Away, featuring works by exclusively women artists; The 21st Century, The Feminine Century, and the Century of Diversity and Hope, with works by 86 artists/groups, male and female; and So Close Yet So Far Away, featuring 93 Korean women artists. Participating artists include Won SeoungWon from Korea, Archana Hande from India, and from Japan, Kosemura Mami, Matsui Fuyuko, and New York-based Naito Rakuko.
