The Agency of Cultural Affairs-sponsored media arts festival will join Europe’s largest media arts festival, Ars Electronica, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, by holding the Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz. The two festivals will take place concurrently, the JMAFL showcasing the latest in Japanese games and their history, along with a group of animated works.
Japanese artists showing at Ars Electronica this year include Maywa Denki, Kuwakubo Ryota, and Hachiya Kazuhiko, with Ikeda Ryoji slated to stage a live event.
