Dazaifu Tenmangu, Ema Hall
Artist Michael Lin will present an original ema votive painting to the Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine in Fukuoka. Lin embarked on the project after visiting the shrine last year. Lin’s painting will be dedicated to the shrine in a votive ceremony on 6 September after which it will open to public viewing. It is the first new ema to be entered into the shrine’s Ema Hall in seven years.
Michael Lin’s solo show room opens on the previous day at Mitsubishi-Jisho ARTIUM (Fukuoka). He will also be participating in the Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale 2009 during the same period.
