What can art do for children in developing countries? Students under the tutelage of artist Miyajima Tatsuo at Tohoku University of Art and Design and Kyoto University of Art and Design present the results of their workshop with AIDS orphans in Uganda in session one of a two-part symposium at the at the National Art Center, Tokyo. In session two, scriptwriter Koyama Kundo (Okuribito) and editor Maekita Miyako (ecocolo) join Miyajima to discuss ‘The Possibilities of Art and Design’.
