Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney

The fourth in a series of projects pairing an Australian artist with an international peer of their choice. Louisa Bufardeci’s ‘national flags’ reflecting commonplace information at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (MOT) remains fresh in the minds of Tokyo art buffs. For this show she selected as her counterpart Japanese artist Ito Zon on the basis of shared material and conceptual affinities. Both artists respond directly to the architectural space of the museum, coloring walls, floors, and ceilings in and outside the gallery.
