A survey of Pakistani art from the past 20 years. Hanging Fire begins with one of the last major works by Zahoor ul Akhlaq (1944-1999), considered the founder of modernism in Pakistan, and comprises 55 works by 15 artists, ranging from installation art, video and photography to painting and sculpture. Curated by Salima Hashmi, the exhibition also examines the distinctly Pakistani genre of contemporary miniature painting, and the role of the National College of Arts in Lahore in the art scene.
