The most recent work (2009) from the Lightning Fields series first shown in 2006. Sugimoto’s work involves experimenting with electricity discharges that cause artificial light to flash directly on to a photographic plate, exploring the idea of what humans can and cannot control, and the history of the relationship between the two.
