The former uneasy times, person whom it is hard to see are going to confirm at first one’s body as a reliable thing. I am going to follow a trace where a sense and memory, the wisdom in this body came from.
The physical expression such as traditional arts, a drama, sports, the martial arts such as dance, ability, Noh comedy or Kabuki was concerned with our spiritual life as memory of as communication beyond the languages or the local topoi and culture deeply. However, those most have been unexpectedly lost in a history of the art by sense of values of the modernism.
A book exhibition “demands new genealogy”, and a trace of memory and the intellect had for a body is taken in in the expression in each time and traces the genealogy which brought about new creation and intends to review current expression. It is a Noh comedian and invites Mansai Nomura who plays an active part in appearance and the direction to a modern drama and performance to a general adviser this time. The body jumps at a stretch until the present age while succeeding to the traditional model for 600 years and creates genes of the new creation by crossing with various modern expression. For example, the movement of the ability simplified to the maximum eliminates words and is connected to the dam type characterized by the repetition of the minimal form and suggests possibility of the new genealogy.
The book exhibition is comprised with a performance performed in document display and a meeting place following a picture, a picture, installation, a relation with the vanguard including ability and the dance after the 50s in total. It becomes the trial of the new display that there was not for a performance exhibition in the conventional art.
