Hara Museum ARC、Gunma ”A round rainbow”

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.
Olafur Eliasson’s “Sunspace for Shibukawa” is on view at ARC since October.
It is an observatory/pavilion in which the relative path of the sun moving across the sky can be charted over the duration of a year. From time to time, a perfectly round rainbow appears on sunny day.

Today from 10:15 am, a round rainbow appeared for approximately 30 minutes inside of the pavilion.

The round rainbow will change its shape, form and intensity over the course of the year. The next circle is scheduled to appear on January 5. May it be a sunny day…
