With his original OPTRON, a musical device that creates sound from the electrical noise emitted by fluorescent tubes, the artist Atsuhiro Ito has for many years explored new and varied approaches to the world of sound.This unique “sound device,” which can be seen as both a musical instrument and sound art, mesmerizes not only audiences, but also other kinds of artists, with whom Ito has collaborated with in a wide variety of fields, including dance performance. On this occasion, he will perform solo at The Hall, a uniquely shaped space within the Hara Museum on a theme of visible radiation (ray). There will also be a talk by the artist.
