Jim Lambie at Hara Museum ARC

Jim Lambie came to Hara Museum ARC (Gunma) on March 31!

This work was shown during the artist’s solo show Jim Lambie: Unknown Pleasures

held at the Hara Museum in Tokyo between 2008 and 2009. The work is currently on

view at Gallery A of Hara Museum ARC.

Take a closer look, and you will find that the work is made out of everyday objects such as chairs and handbags.

It’s a very “rhythmical” piece, isn’t it?

In Gunma where the museum is located, cherry trees are yet to bloom. Perhaps, the flowers will start to bloom next week.

Photo shown here is a view from Café d’Art taken in April 2009.

Currently on view at ARC are Selections from the Hara Museum Collection–showcasing recent acquisitions

(venue: contemporary art galleries) and Celadon Vase (National Treasure) from the Hara Rokuro Collection (venue: Kankai Pavilion). Please come and enjoy the exhibits together with our beautiful Cherry trees!

Both shows are on view until Sunday, May 30.

*Kankai Pavilion will be closed from April 21 to 23.
