News from The Museum Shop

From Hara Museum, Tokyo

The exhibition catalogue for “Jae-Eun Choi: Forests of Asoka” is now available at The Museum Shop. It is the catalogue of the first solo exhibition at a Japanese museum by the Seoul-born female artist Jae-Eun Choi.

The theme of the exhibition is the forest, inspired by the Five Forests of Asoka, the emperor of ancient India who had his people plant and care for five trees, or “forests,” for their fruit, medicinal benefits, etc. This catalogue documents the new sculptural, photographic and video works that Choi installed for the show. Readers will find reproduced the “forests” that she created as an expression of her profound thoughts about life.

Included are essays by Keiko Nakamura and Hiroshi Minamishima, artist’s bio, exhibition history and lists of publications and featured artworks.
