Hara Museum ARC in Fall and Nakanojo Biennale

Weather is getting cooler in the evening.
Hara Museum ARC will be closed from September 1 to allow the change of works and will reopen on September 12 with a
Fall exhibition.

Incidentally, Gunma prefecture has many wonderful hot springs.
Nearby ARC is the Ikaho Onsen Hot Spring area, 5 minutes by car from the museum. Drive for about an hour and you will find the Shima Onsen. http://www.shimaonsen.com/

Nakanojo city where the Shima Onsen is located has been holding the art project “Nakanojo Biennale” since 2007.
The second Biennale is on view until September 23. http://www.bi-ku.com/nakanojo/

You can visit the Isama studio famous for “Sleeping Man” (nemureru otoko) and “Moon and Cabbage” (Tsuki to cabetsu) and find works by young artists scattered throughout the town.

The biennale venue is about 30 minutes by car from ARC.
