Documentary film “Olafur Eliasson: Space is Process” Screening + Talk
July 15, 2017 (Saturday), 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Venue: The Hall, Hara Museum

Olafur Eliasson is the artist behind the New York City Waterfalls, a massive public art project created in 2008 with a budget of 170 million yen (about 1.5 million dollars), but whose economic impact was over 750 million yen (68 million dollars). This film shines a light on the artist’s creative process, focusing mainly on the Waterfalls, but also on work done at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and in his studio in Germany. The Hara Museum will be presenting the film prior to its public release on August 5. In addition to the film, the event includes information about the 2017 Yokohama Triennale which will feature Eliasson’s work and a dialogue between writer Naoko Aono and Hiromi Kurosawa, chief curator at 21st Century Museum. We invite you to explore the world of the artist with deep ties with the Hara Museum, ranging from his solo exhibition Olafur Eliasson: Your light shadow in 2005 to his permanent installation at Hara Museum ARC Sunspace for Shibukawa.
