The Hara Museum ARC is happy to present a concert by the soprano Kazue Morinaga at the museum’s entrance lobby from 6:30 pm on Saturday, August 21. The evening’s program will feature 18th and 19th century antique arias and belle canto opera, which will be accompanied by commentary. We invite you to enjoy the beauty of voice and art on a late-summer evening within the lush environs of the museum grounds. Prior to the concert, guests may enjoy the museum exhibitions Selections from the Hara Museum Collection – Tales of Art in the contemporary art galleries and Scenes of Wind, Scenes of Water at the Kankai Pavilion.
* The entrance lobby is a semi-outdoor venue that is protected by a roof.

Kazue Morinaga (Soprano)
Morinaga graduated with a degree in Japanese literature at the Japan Women’s University and in voice at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She made her debut in 1984 as the first lady-in-waiting in The Magic Flute by Mozart, and has appeared in a variety of operas afterwards. In 1992, she studied in Milan, Italy. In 1993, she passed the audition for the Milano Concert Association and in 1994 received a work permit. She passed the audition as soloist for La Scala in Milan in 1995, and since then has given recitals at various venues in Japan and Italy, including Suntory Hall (Tokyo), Oji Hall (Tokyo) and the Osaka Club (Osaka). In 1989, the Kazue Morinaga Supporters Club was launched in Shibukawa, Gunma, where she was born, and the “Morinaga Kazue Concert” is held there each year. She is a member of the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation.
