Virgil Oldman is a brilliant art expert with an unerring eye who appraises artworks around the world. One day a collection appraisal request from a wealthy household arrives. When he arrives at the mansion he finds the client to be a mysterious young woman who refuses to show herself in person and keeps making dubious excuses. Virgil is suspicious, but on the floor of the stately home he finds parts of a work of art, which will be a historic find if genuine.
