In the suburbs of Paris, three siblings go to visit their mother who is still living in the studio home of her deceased uncle—a former impressionist painter. After her subsequent passing, her three grown children are confronted with the choice of whether or not to accept their mother’s inheritance. The home they all grew up in harbors countless fond memories, not to mention the collection featuring numerous artworks. What choice will they all come to make? L’heure d’été is a drama centered on a family, questioning the relationships between people and things, and between the past and remembrance in the present. The film commemorates the 20th anniversary of the opening of Musée d’Orsay.
