The pursuit of physical performance is an aesthetic goal found not only in sports but in dance as well. The elegant, refined movements of dance works such as the legendary ballet “Le Train Bleu” and a movie featuring the perfect swim stroke of Jean Taris completely captured my imagination. The human instincts displayed at the site of battle serve as the origins of sports and reflect gender issues and aspects of society.
This is a short selection that touches on multi-layered reality of sports.
