The window display at Ginza Maison Hermès is a theatrical stage in the midst of the city. Each year’s annual theme of Hermès is conveyed through the creative viewpoints of diverse creators.
The theme for 2017 is Le sens de l’objet (Object Sense).

Young artists Julie and Thomas produce media art that utilizes technology to highlight the value of the analog. For this exhibition they have created a three-dimensional dollhouse using Bis Repetita, the new Hermès autumn/winter 2017 origami and wrapping paper. When you look through the windows of this dollhouse, something unexpected occurs…

Julie Stephen Chheng is a Paris-based designer. She is engaged in projects in the field of publishing, visual arts and design that blend state-of-the-art technology and paper. Her partner Thomas Pons is an animator, producing video clips and short films. The two have had residencies at the Hong Kong Arts Center and Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto, and are working on projects in the VR (virtual reality) and Multimedia field such as ‘Rain and noon’ (project with CNC, CNL France), ‘Adventure of Little postal train’ (realized with Crowdfunding) and interactive exhibition at Musée de la chasse et de la nature in Paris.
