Hiroshima prize memory, a large-scale private exhibition by Ono Yoko>

Hiroshima-shi that was a world’s first being bombed place was intended that I accused “a heart of Hiroshima” to pray for world permanent peace and prosperity of the human at the world through art and founded “Hiroshima Prize” in 1989. I hold a receiving a prize memory exhibition of Ono Yoko who became the the eighth prize winner in Hiroshima-shi Museum of Contemporary Art.

Ono Yoko born in Tokyo in 1933 opened a border of the art while making full use of a variety of media such as visual arts, a performance, music, a film, the poetry through the fictionization as the vanguard artist for more than half a century. I work on the imagination of people, and the work for the purpose of the audience really participating in the production of the work is appreciated as pioneer expression of the conceptual art which is one of the tides of the contemporary art after the 1960s. I continue creating new form of the art expression afterwards without remaining in the specific genre including a picture and the sculpture.

In addition, in addition to the activity as the vanguard artist, I was concerned with a peace movement positively, and, from before and after marriage with John Lennon in 1969, an event and pacifism for jointly many peace campaigned, and I was global, and, as for their message, it was with the symbol which represented the international peace movement that opened in the 1970s. And, after death of John Lennon, I continue sending a message of “love and the peace” throughout.

Hiroshima Nagasaki and East Japan great earthquake disaster… Requiem and way

Hiroshima and Nagasaki that are one of the maximum tragedy which the human experienced in the history. And the former East Japan great earthquake disaster that many people suffered from it, and lost its life. This exhibition sends a message of Ono Yoko mainly on the latest installation to show the requiem for the people who experienced these tragedy and the way to the future desired for the world.
