CIGE: China International Gallery Exposition, the Chinese art fair launched in 2004, opens to the public tomorrow in Beijing. Among the fifty plus participating galleries – mostly based in China – are galleries hailing from Taiwan, Korea, Japan and a handful from Europe. Other features of this year’s fair are the curatorial ‘Mapping Asia’ exhibition of works by emerging Asian artists, the ‘Subliminals’ exhibition, providing non-profit organizations a platform to present artists, and the specially organized My landscape, my Utopia exhibition showing visions of the Yunnan landscape.
