Artist In Residence Kurashiki, Ohara

The Ohara Museum of Art, a private museum with a collection of Western contemporary art in the city of Kurashiki, is calling for applications for its ARKO (Artist In Residence Kurashiki, Ohara) program. The program aims to support young artists by giving them use of the former studio of the painter Kojima Torajiro and presenting their work locally. Each year one artist is invited to create work during up to three months of residency and exhibit at the museum. Launched in 2005, past residents include Machida Kumi, Mise Natsunosuke, Oshie Chieko, and Hikosaka Toshiaki. Applications for 2010 must be received by 24 December.
