Starting this year, Design Miami/ Basel will move to Hall 5 of the Basel exhibition complex, the same venue as Art Basel. VIP previews by invitation only kicked off on June 8.
These featured a comprehensive collection of designer furniture, in addition to works by Mark Newson, whose creations also appear on the art market. Once again this year, the main sponsor was HSBC. The previews taking place before the opening of Art Basel meant that a number of contemporary art gallery owners were also spotted out shopping.
