Sotheby’s New York Contemporary Art evening sale on 11 November realized a total of $134,438,000 – far above estimates – from 52 lots sold. The top lot was Andy Warhol’s 200 One Dollar Bills (1991) fetching $43,762,500 (est. $8-12,000,000), followed by Jasper Johns’ Gray Numbers (1957) at $8,706,500 (est. $5-7,000,000) and WilIem De Kooning Untitled XV (77) at $6,130,500 (est. $5-7,000,000).
