From photographic works to sculpture, and with the opening of the IZU PHOTO MUSEUM (2009, Mishima), to architectural and garden design… Sugimoto Hiroshi forges on with his sweeping creative practice. Deputy editor of BRUTUS, Suzuki Yoshio, who mounted a special feature on one of Japan’s most high profile artists and recipient of the Imperiale in Honor of Prince Takamatsu will probe Sugimoto once again, this time going further back in time to his days as a tinkering lad and railroad buff in a quest to find the roots of his art world and working process.
