Lance Armstrong bike design by Kaws
Lance Armstrong and Nike join forces to produce a global art exhibition dedicated to the fight against cancer. The seven times Tour de France winner, who himself overcame cancer and returned last year to professional cycling, established the Lance Armstrong Foundation in an effort to empower people affected by cancer. Stages is an extension of those activities, commissioning more than 20 renowned artists including Cai Guo-Qiang, Dzine, Andreas Gursky, Nara Yoshitomo, Richard Prince and Ed Ruscha to create works inspired by Armstrong and his work.
The exhibition opens at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris from 17 July to 8 August, during the Tour De France, and will travel to the United States this autumn.
