Morimura Yasumasa’s solo show Maburakashi opens today at Epsite in Shinjuku. The title is a word coined by the artist from the Japanese words mabusu (to cover, smear or sprinkle) and mazekoze ni suru (to mix up or jumble). The show features his new konpeito (sugar candy) skull and a new work taking Frida Kahlo as its subject along with other previously unshown works. To mark the opening art producer Yamaguchi Yumi will join the artist will on Saturday 29 August for a talk.
