Art space ‘island’ launches in Kashiwa

The new year saw the launch of the new art space ‘island’, and 30 January marked the opening of their first exhibition, New World. Island is operated by former magical, ARTROOM director and staff Ito Haruka and Yuki Kayoko, artist Endo Ichiro, and art director Nakajima Yuta. In addition to organizing exhibitions and representing artists, island plans to engage in producing Web-, print-, video- and television-based media.
New World is a group show featuring the works of 14 artists. Special events including talks and live performances are in the planning for closing day.
