A series of talks featuring a new guest each session, Yanaka Talk vol. 1: the business of art kicked off last weekend. The event is being staged in conjunction with art-Link Ueno-Yanaka 2009, currently underway in Tokyo’s Ueno-Yanaka-Nezu-Sendagi area. Session one, Kubota Kenji, took place on Sunday; sessions two through five welcome Japan’s first in-house museum exhibition designer, Tokyo National Museum Head of Design Kinoshita Shisei; artist Munemasa Koji; SCAI THE BATHHOUSE director Shiraishi Masami; and former SCAI staff and founding directors of their own gallery, ARATANIURANO, Aratani Tomoko and Urano Mutsumi.
