Phillips de Pury & Company’s New York Contemporary Art Part I sale on 12 November realized a total of $7,099,250 from 31 lots sold. The top lots were Kusama Yayoi’s Infinity Nets (T.W.A.) (2000) (est $300-400,000) and Andy Warhol’s Brillo Soap Pads Box (1964) (est $700-900,000) each fetching $842,500, followed by Ed Ruscha’s Mean As Hell (2002) at $590,500 (estimate $400,000-600,000).
