Shiga Lieko Lilly
The third edition of the photo festival held annually since its launch in 2008 opens today in Brooklyn. Among the four main exhibitions, Hidden Books, Hidden Stories curated by playwright, musician and photographer Lou Reed includes works by Japanese artists Moriyama Daido, Kurigami Kazumi, Hatakeyama Naoya and Shiga Lieko. Structured as a mix of the artists’ books and large-scale projections, the exhibition strives to present a holistic view of each artist’s narrative. In addition to the main and satellite exhibitions, the fesitival will feature Porfolio Review sessions conducted by the photography book publishers powerhouse Books, and host of other events.
