Hou Hanru shortlisted for Ordway Prize

Created in 2005, the Ordway prize acknowledges the contributions of a mid-career curator/arts writer and an artist between the ages of 40 and 65, with a developed body of work extending over a minimum of fifteen years, whose work has had significant impact on the field of contemporary art, but who has yet to receive broad public recognition. Awarded biennially, the two winners will each receive an unrestricted cash prize of $100,000. The six finalists for the third Ordway Prize are listed below. The two prizewinners will be announced in early 2010.

Sabine Breitwieser (b. 1962, Austria); Hou Hanru (b.1963, China); and Hamza Walker (b. 1966, United States).

Artist finalists
Tania Bruguera (b.1968, Cuba); William Pope.L (b.1955, United States); and Artur Żmijewski (b. 1966, Poland).
