The Miami Art Museum has announced the completion of design development for their new facilities scheduled to open in 2013. The Museum is designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, whose widely recognized projects include the ‘Bird’s Nest’ Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympics and expansion of the Tate Modern (completion 2012). The new MAM will be the anchor of Museum Park, a redesign of the area now known as Bicentennial Park, which will also form the future home of the Miami Science Museum, and a branch of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida.
