Nobuyoshi Araki and Katsura Funakoshi: An Image of Love Supreme, currently underway at the Takahashi Collection Hibiya, brings together under one roof photographs from Araki’s recent Mother and Child series (2008-09) and sculpture from Funakoshi’s hermaphroditic sphinx series. In a related program, the photographer, who after undergoing surgery for prostrate cancer in sensed he’d had a brush with death, and the increasingly respected Japanese sculptor will join each other in conversation.
